6-Week Class | Draw Any Flower: Ink and Watercolor

Wednesdays 1-3pm
Beginning September 24, 2025

This class is perfect for people who feel self-critical or wish they could create art but don’t think they have the skills.

Over the course of six weeks, we will study the basic components of flowers and gain the skills to draw any flower. Throughout the class, I will incorporate mental health principles to create a calming and supportive environment.

The first week, you’ll choose a flower to draw. This will start as a pencil sketch, then inking the drawing with a waterproof pen. The following week, we’ll use watercolor, colored pencils, or ink to add color. The focus is on drawing the flowers, so how you add color is less important to the process. At the end of the class, you will have up to 3 completed paintings.

About the Teacher: Galina Hitching is a visual artist and trauma healing facilitator. She has a degree in strategic communication and spent seven years working in marketing and communication before she transitioned to pursue her love of art. Galina loves working in all mediums but finds the most joy in watercolor and oil painting. Her art has been exhibited in Colorado, California, Pennsylvania, and Florida. She’s passionate about helping people who think they aren’t creative to discover the joy of creating. She offers art workshops that integrate gentle art teaching with a mental health component.

Her “Starsighted” oil painting series is currently on display in our lobby.
